Shelby Scott is born in Seattle.

The daughter of Harry and Inga (Ring) Shuck, Shelby Scott graduates from the University of Washington, works for Seattle radio and television stations and arrives in Boston to work as a general assignment reporter at WBZ in 1965. She serves as a news anchor in 1977,* and subsequently becomes known for her weather coverage. After retiring, she maintains a summer home in Maine’s Casco Bay, and dies in Tucson, Arizona, on June 8, 2002.
